Insecurity in Relationships: It happens more often than you think

I am insecure. But then, aren’t we all at some time or another?
Insecurity is defined as a feeling of general unease or nervousness that may be triggered by perceiving one ’s self to be unloved, inadequate, or worthless. It is frequently an issue among couples, and has been the demise of many relationships.
Women fall prey to insecurity much more than men. That’s not to say men don’t feel insecure. They just cope with it better and feel a different level than those of their female counterparts.
The insecure partner likely has a low self-esteem, or unresolved emotional baggage. She might suffer from fear of rejection, intimacy (this should not be confused with fear of commitment) or losing an identity, and more alarmingly, from lack of trust. These may stem from past experiences or relationships, or from the environment she grew up in.
These hidden fears and issues manifest through jealousy, doubt, mistrust, paranoia and a controlling demeanor. The one suffering from insecurity has constant doubts and fears, is forever worrying, and experiences never-ending anxiety. Upon entering a relationship, her questions which used to be “Will anyone love me?” might translate to “Am I good enough for him?” and “What could he possibly want in me that he couldn’t find in other girls?” She probably has episodes of wallowing in self-pity, and feels very poorly about herself. As a result, she alienates her partner, refusing to open up. She shuns attention given to her, retreating into her shell every time he wants to talk.
The other partner now feels angered because he cannot understand why there is a widening gap between them, as the insecure partner will likely avoid confrontations and discussions about their existing problem.
If you are the receiving end of an insecure partner, understand that your partner needs to be loved and understood more than ever in this tumultuous part in your relationship.
Prove your loyalty and commitment. There are a lot of ways in which you can prove your loyalty; one is always being there when your partner needs you. Another way is to talk things through. Persuade her to change her unhealthy thinking habits, boost her self-confidence by complimenting her, whether it is about her physical features or even the little things that you love about her and assure her that there is no reason to second-guess you.
If your partner’s insecurity level has gotten to a level so intense that you find it difficult to maintain a healthy and happy relationship, you can seek counselling to guide you in straightening out your issues that may be underlying your relationship. It may be a big step, but a good one nonetheless, to exorcise the insecurity monster once and for all.

Handbags Health Hazard Women Warned

With big hand bags becoming a key fashion accessory for working women, health experts are warning they can also become a key health concern.

Bags for women have become bigger and heavier as designers combine briefcases with handbags and straps have become longer but the extra leverage has many patients complaining of neck, shoulder, and back problems.

Correct posture while carrying bulky purses, keeping the head and shoulders aligned upright is recommended to avoid problems if we continue the purse craze.

The extra-large purses are quite phenomenal. They look beautiful when the women wear them, but they don’t know how aware they are of the potential problems.

Massage, anti-inflammation and rest are good to help alleviate the symptoms temporarily however the only real cure is patient education.

Children were recommended to carry no more than 10-15 percent of their body weight in backpacks, which are effective at spreading loads carried, but fashion consultants say they just are aren’t cool any more.

The trend is either very large or very small. People go to the gym, they have an extra pair of shoes, they have their make-up, so there’s more stuff to carry around. The backpack is really for a very casual customer, for a student with books, that is not a fashion customer.

Traditionally women adopted better postures for carrying loads, such as baskets on heads or strapping a papoose across the back, but placing objects on one shoulder was one of the least efficient ways of carrying loads. This causes a great imbalance.

If it (a big bag) is a fashion accessory, then occasional and symbolic use is fine. If not, then keep it light.

Mali pala talaga time NATIN DATI

Aun, aus na time natin. Dati kasi, naka GMT-8.... Aus na ngaun. MANILA TIME na tau.. GMT +1 na.. UN LANG

Fashion First???

“Uso ang sosyal, frappuccino,frappuccino.
Uso maputi, glutathione, glutathione.
Uso ang tsinelas, habayanas, habayanas."

-ASTIG by Giniling Festival

If we were to take on a time machine, you will be able to see that there will always be things which still remain and will constantly be with us no matter what era you belong to- fashion trends.

Fashion statements, as we all know it change depending on the generation it belongs to. Who would not forget the bell bottoms of the 70’s and the ‘hairspraying’ during the 50’s? Clearly, trends do vary but there is always a trend and I believe there always will be especially to the youth.

Whether they belong to the top of the heap or they are part of the almost rock bottom class, the youngsters will more often than not follow trends. Who would want to feel left out anyway?

So if you have a less money than the ‘fashionistas’ you see on magazines and television, you should not fret. There will always be places where good finds are found. Divisoria and night markets usually offer items such as clothes and shoes at lower prices but before actually buying, ‘humingi ka ng tawad’ though you did no wrong. TAWAD. BARGAIN. Ask for a lower price.

Before you take-off to a journey to the center of the fashion world, evaluate. Think first. Cliché s it sounds, look before you leap. Look at your bank account, your wallet and your pocket- if you still have extra money, you can already go your way to the nearest boutique. However, if you don’t have the dough, you can try living with the saying that patience is a virtue. Save your money first, be patient, before you head your way to a shopping trip.

We all want to be fashionable. We want to have that certain sense of belonging and fashion may be able to give us just as that but we should be reminded that no matter how fashion items can make you a head turner, no matter how gorgeous you can be with the right fashion and no matter how fast fashion can turn you into an eye-candy, NEVER FORGET THAT FASHION DOESN’T COME FIRST.

Ways to tackle menstrual cramps

Three weeks out of each month you feel great. But then comes your period, and with it, those awful cramps. You try to ignore them and go about daily business, but the pain continues to divert your attention. For most women, menstrual cramps last no more than one or two days each month. But this can seem endless when you're trying to function normally.

According to science, there are two types of menstrual cramps, the primary menstrual cramps and the secondary menstrual cramps. Primary menstrual cramps are hereditary. There is no specific cause determined. It just seems that during your period, your uterus cramps up and your sensitivity to that cramping is pretty acute. Sometimes, primary cramps will lessen after giving birth. It happened maybe because of the stretching out of the cervix during delivery reduces the pulling against it that can occur when the uterus contracts or cramps up. Secondary menstrual cramps, on the other hand, are caused by some underlying condition. They are usually a little worse than primary cramps.

Menstrual cramps are usually the result of a prostaglandin excess. Prostaglandin is a hormone produced by the uterine lining mediates many processes within the body. It can bring on headaches, intestinal cramps, and labor. While secondary cramps are usually treated by curing the underlying condition, primary cramps are largely self-treatable with over-the-counter medications and some basic comfort measures. Here are some suggestions:

Take ibuprofen or aspirin.

These medications help to lower the level of prostaglandins, which can lessen or alleviate the cramps.

Hold a heating pad or bottle with hot water in it to the cramped area.

The heat will relax the muscles and soften the pain of the cramping.

Maintain a regular aerobic exercise program.

This doesn’t mean you have to exercise through an episode of cramps. Keeping up a regular exercise or fitness program the rest of the month seems to make these episodes less intense when they do occur. Exercising also increases pelvic circulation, which helps to clear out the excess prostaglandins a little faster.

Take a hot bath.
A hot bat relaxes the muscles and increases circulation to the pelvic area. It can also relieve some of the lower back pain that can accompany cramps.

Practice good, safe, self-help techniques to have a healthy living.

SPRAY PAINT ARMY

Armed with spray paints and passion walk the graffiti writers of today. They stride, glide, and ride in the streets of the Metro looking for spots to show their craft which ironically considered by others as vandal.

And since there is a need for you to know what graffiti is, it is the plural form of the word, “graffito” which means scribbling or scratch in Italian.
According to one graffiti artist, ‘Bonz’ from Samahang Batang Aerosol (SBA), graffiti is an art of spray painting using the wall as your canvas.

People first recognized graffiti as an art during the 70’s and 80’s in the subway of New York and has taken popularity in recent years here in the Philippines through the association of hip-hop culture although Bonz believes that as long as you love its concept and artistry, anyone ( not only hip-hop) can create or write graffiti.

Graffiti all over the world has flourished as means of expression. In fact, most graffs (short for graffiti) are being used as medium for socio-political criticisms and upliftment as well. Then again, SBA dares to have a specific Filipino mark or identity when it comes to graffiti. They want their works to be branded as ‘Filipino Graff’.

On the issue that graffiti is only another form of vandalism; Bonz believes that it can’t be classified as such because graff is a form of beauty while vandals are just plain destruction of what exists.

And visual art isn’t a destruction of any kind. It is something created to be loved and be appreciated by everyone who gets to be see it whether they may be on paper, clothing and even on walls.

Want Skin that positively glows?

Your skin is your biggest asset that is about to be highlighted now that summer is here once again. Having done your fair share at the gym and sticking out with that diet, it’s now time to reap the reward that you so faithfully waited out for: the beach bod. Your skin just needs a little oomph to nail that summer rendezvous.
Fabulous, radiant skin is in! No matter how expensive your clothes may be, or how bootylicious you may seem, your skin will never fail to be noticed. So before heading out to the beach, here are a few tips on how to prep your beach-ready skin.
Back to basics. The golden rule in skin care is exfoliate, tone and moisturize. It is the tried and tested beauty formula (if there is one) to reveal healthy luscious skin hiding behind those dull, dead skin cells. As you probably know by now, washing your face with plain soap will do more harm than good. Antibacterial and deodorant soaps can be cruel to your skin, so moisturizing bars like Dove would be better. Also, look for alcohol and fragrance-free products, as these ingredients tend to strip the skin of its natural oils.
Eating and exercising. Yet again, avoiding greasy and fatty foods will prove to be beneficial not only to your health but to your skin. So instead of chomping down on chips and sodas, replace them with fruits, veggies and just plain water to lend your skin a helping hand. Whatever you choose to eat will ultimately show on your skin, as how your sedentary lifestyle shows on your figure, so it’s up to you.
Strive to exercise everyday for an hour or half. If you think that losing weight is the only motivation for getting physical, think again. Studies have shown that being active is essential to achieving good skin, because when we exercise, the brain releases a hormone called oxytocin which contributes to the rosy white glow we get. A short tip: short bursts of ten-minute activities, scattered on a whole day, is better than exercising for three hours once a week.
Masks and treatments. Who knew that your pantry holds the key to soft, radiant skin? A paste of banana, honey and orange juice are all it takes to make a moisturizing and hydrating mask. You could also try lemon juice mixed with honey and milk. Some oils like almond oil, grape seed oil, and avocado oil along with shea butter and cocoa butter are all ingredients in a skin friendly product. And remember, lukewarm water is still the best for your skin.
If you prefer professional treatments, facials are highly recommended because they help boost blood circulation and strengthen your skin’s elasticity. A massage would also yield the same effects, with guaranteed relaxation on the side.
Good timing. Moisturize approximately twenty minutes after showering, while your skin is still damp, to lock in moisture. Sometimes it’s all about timing, which is why you are advised to put on moisturizer just before sleeping because it is when the skin is most absorbent. Besides, when you sleep, your skin rejuvenates itself and builds new skin cells that is why you look refreshed and glowing after a good night’s sleep. An extra tip: slather on vaseline petroleum jelly on your feet and put on socks. You’ll have softer skin on your feet in the morning, guaranteed.
Protect. After your skin has been pampered and buffed to perfection, it’s time for the last and most important step of all in caring for your skin. NEVER ever forget to put sunscreen on liberally on every part of your skin that will be exposed to the sun 20 minutes before going out. It will shield your skin from damaging ultraviolet rays from the sun, minimize its aging effects on the skin and help prevent skin cancers. In sunblock, the rule is that the higher the number is, the better. But 15 is the minimum, usually already mixed in lotions and creams.
So, having laid out the foundation for success in caring for your skin, you’re sure to catch every eye in the crowd with your beautiful, glowing skin. Happy summer!

An itch that won’t go away

Allergic contact dermatitis is something few people know about. I was one of those people until a dermatologist diagnosed it as my ailment.
Allergic contact dermatitis is usually caused by exposure to a substance or particle to which you are allergic to or have grown sensitive to. Likely allergens would be the following:
-Poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac
-Other plants
-Metals, especially nickel
-Medications, especially topicals (those applied to the surface of the skin)
-Rubber or latex
-Cosmetics
-Fabrics and clothing
-Detergents and solvents
-Adhesives
-Fragrances
-Other substances and chemicals

The first few days having it were torture. My skin became covered with pimple like growth, like a raised rash. Almost as if I had the measles. They hurt and they were very itchy... VERY.

I went to the dermatologist at our town but still wasn’t able to see results so I went for a second opinion. When I got back to Manila, what followed was a series of treatments, of trials and errors, and a whole lot of medication. A painfully slow process.

Truly a skin disease is an expensive one to have. Antihistamines for the itchiness became my desserts. I always had a wet towel to pat on my itching rashes. Inevitably, the itch became too much for me, and soon I had wounds and sores all over my body. I had to switch from brand of antihistamine to another, hoping for relief. Expensive brands work just as well as cheap generic ones.

It turns out that even though you have been using something repeatedly in the past, you may still develop sensitivity to it. Hence, you must consider everything if you’ve had an allergic reaction and still haven’t figured out what it is.

Symptoms of allergic contact dermatitis include:
• Itching
• Tenderness
• Skin redness/ inflammation
• Swelling
• Lesions or rashes, papules (pimple like), vesicles (blistery), and bullae (blisters)
• Oozing, draining or crusting may happen
• Can become raw, scaly or thickened

To identify the allergen, patch testing is usually done on patients whose dermatitis recur. In patch testing, patches of potential allergens are applied on the skin and removed 48 hours later to see if a reaction has occurred to any of the substances.

Treatments comprise of corticosteroid skin creams that reduce inflammation, antihistamines are also prescribed to lessen the itchiness. Avoid itching the affected part of your skin because it can cause a secondary infection and unsightly scars. Trust me, I have scars all over my body to prove it.

I always have a bottle of corticosteroid handy in my bag so that when it flares up, I’m ready.
You should be too.

Fashion Revival

As time goes by, people are getting more rebellions and wild on dressing up. Some Filipinos are adapting such trends which are in demand in other countries. They become more extravagant and wanted to be remembered by their own fashion. They create different styles and experiment trends just to ease their personal wants.

In order to be fashionable, most people follow what’s in the market even if it is too expensive. Whether it is cool or not so comfortable, they just buy it.

People are very free by means of dressing. They can wear what they wanted to wear. They can wear anything they want even if it is not fitted for them. They just looked trying hard.

Some women especially the liberated ones, they preferred to wear plunging necklines, they wanted to show their cleavage which is very foul to see by conservative people. They wanted to look very hot yet sometimes cause disrespect against them.

As you observe the way of dressing in the past year, you can see the love of women to themselves, the respect of men to women. You can see conservative they are. But look at us now, people change, people find some new in their lives. They experiment and express their selves by means of wild dressing.

Fashion trend has been evolving, from a simple piece of leaf turning to an expensive dress. A very conservative baro’t saya turning to a very sexy plunging see through attire, what will be the future fashion trend?

Does fashion trend really affect the whole society or part of the society is the evolution of fashion trend?

SHAPING UP FOR HEARTS’ DAY

Nothing beats a healthy heart on a heart’s day and any other day for that matter.

To be a healthy person, not only for your sake but for those who cherish and treasure you the most will probably be one of the greatest gifts you can give to them. The gift of love and health is something we are given and just like anything given, we must learn to appreciate and value it.

People, it is a must that we know how to take care of ourselves. It is necessary that we know what is best for us. It is we do things for our well-being, which of course includes the proper food intake and daily activities.

If you truly know yourself, by now, you must already know what is slowing you down or what is keeping you away from the top of your game. By now, it must not be a secret to you why sometimes you can’t keep up with your love one’s energy.

It could be possible that these kinds of matters concern your health. It might be possible that you are not eating right. It is also possible that due to your inactivity, your health is going down or it could be both.

Health as I have mentioned last time and as you already know is wealth and to be healthy, we must all learn how to it properly. We must master the art of encrypting to or minds and hearts and not merely our stomachs what we eat, how much we eat and how often do we eat. We must know these three and allow me to give you a hint.

If you are the typical Pinoy or Pinoy who can’t take their serving of rice every meal, try brown rice. We have been hearing brown rice for years now. But what is really with it that can help our bodies, health wise?

Brown rice has high-fiber content. The health benefits of high fiber content foods are numerous, it reduces the possibility of heart diseases, helps avoid abrupt spikes in sugar levels, helps digestion and reduces constipation. It contains other nutrients like, B vitamins, manganese, selenium and iron which are all needed by our bodies.

Help yourselves with brown rice and not the regular rice we commonly take in.
Another tip is eating whole grain products on a regular basis. A study conducted in 2007 showed that women who regularly eat whole grain as part of a low fat diet and healthy lifestyle, tend to weigh less and are less likely to gain weight over time.

Whole grain product just like brown rice contains fiber. Whole grain products such a whole grain cereal is a healthier option for most cereals, milling involves the removal of the outer husk, or bran, and the nutrient-rich germ from the endosperm which is then used to make flour.

And as what you hear more often than not, avoid fatty foods!

What to eat is just the beginning. We still have to learn how much to eat. Of course, anything overboard is not good. Too much of anything can bring you no good. Try to talk to your nutritionist to find out what is best for you. Some may need special diet. Other people may require a closer look from specialists before they go on a diet. Then again, keep in mind these five words, “anything too much is bad”.

Do not eat all the time. It is not advisable that you eat every time you are bored and you feel like eating. Do not involve too much of your emotion when eating. Avoid putting food in your mouth when you are feeling intense emotions. You might get carried away and might lead to overeating. Overeating is something anyone, even those who are on normal side of the scale must avoid.

Again, health is wealth. Take care of it. Live a longer life.

Art in unexpected places

It was an accidental discovery, which made it all the more pleasant.
I went to the Government Services Insurance System headquarters at Diosdado Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City to accompany someone and happily found out that they had a museum of art. Anyone can go in for free!
Paintings of all sizes and colors can be found here. Incidentally, February is national arts month so they have all kinds of activities lined up, along with a lecture series on Juan Luna called the Parisian Life lecture. It is held every Wednesday which will end on March 24. They also hold their GSIS art competition annually and exhibit the winning pieces on the museum. For music lovers, fear not for they also have a concert series every Thursday.
Established in April 1996, the GSIS Museum ng Sining is a tribute to the creativity of Filipino artists. Its vision is to help define the growth and glorious flowing of Philippine visual art. Its objectives are to collect Philippine art and artistic expressions from the colonial period up to the present, to exhibit and document Philippine and non-Philippine art and artistic expressions and to heighten art appreciation among the GSIS personnel in particular, and the general public.
There are worls by National Artists Fernando C. Amorsolo, Carlos “Botong” Francisco, Vicente S. Manansala, Hernando Ocampo and many others with Federico Alcuaz’ tapestries hung on walls.
Arguably the most popular painting in the museum is the “Parisian Life” done by Juan Luna. The GSIS was able to bid for this piece at an auction at the JW Marriot Hotel in Hong Kong in October 2002. It depicts a French woman sitting in a restaurant in Paris while Dr. Jose Rizal, Juan Luna, and Dr. Ariston Bautista Lin are talking on the table behind her.
All in all it was a wonderful art experience. For someone like me who is not artsy at all, finding art in the most unexpected places never fails to make my day!

MOSQUITO ATTACK

In able to win a battle, you must know who your enemies are. You must study their ways and strategies for you to defeat them.
A set of mind like this is also applicable in the battle we have in our health. Now that summer season is approaching, mosquitoes are for sure will interfere in the vacation.
Mosquitoes are old things on earth but there are things about it that we should know.

Do you know that mosquitoes have lived in this planet for 30 million years? There are thousands of species of these insects. However, it is just the Aedes Aegypti that most concerns us Filipinos. It is a carrier of dengue, a life-threatening infection. Female mosquito is the only one that bites. The reason is that she needs blood in order to lay eggs and produce even more mosquitoes.

Mosquito can be seen everywhere because it is attracted to carbon dioxide, so just by breathing, we already attract mosquitoes. Their sight isn’t that good but they can sense you moving especially when you are wearing something dark. Small insect like mosquito is a lethal weapon that its bite can cause malaria, yellow fever, encephalitis and dengue fever.

Mosquitoes can smell your breath, body scent and perfume from 20-35 meters away.
The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) that causes AIDS cannot survive in a mosquito. Thus, AIDS cannot be transmitted through mosquito bites.

There is lot of information about mosquitoes that amuses us. Fruit juices, plant nectar and other saccharine liquids from plants are liked by mosquitoes because sugar is the most mosquitos’ source of energy.

Aside from these truths about mosquitoes, our lifestyle can or cannot attract mosquitoes.

The more you sweat, the more you seem attractive to mosquitoes. That’s because when you perspire, you produce lactic acid, which is a mosquito magnet.

Beware especially when you are the outdoorsy type, it is because mosquitoes like ponds, lakes and wooded areas.

Those insects may be attracted to fruity and floral fragrances, we can avoid attracting them by steering clear of scented soaps, lotions, perfumes and hair products if you are heading outside.

Health is wealth, we always take that. So with the old but important information the people must know is a help to prevent diseases carried by these small insects, mosquitoes.

We can take these as simple advices because we are always reminded that prevention is always better than cure.

What To Eat To Gain Weight

Malnutrition rate in the Philippines is getting higher but even though there are eating programs conducted both by the government and private foundation, these are still not enough to fill what is really needed.
If you are blessed to sustain your needs, you must take these simple advices as you changed your eating habits.
Increasing your intake of junk foods and greasy foods is not a good way to gain weight. Junk foods usually contain unhealthy trans fats or saturated fats. Even though you need to increase your calorie consumption to gain weight, those calories should come from foods that are good for you.
Healthy fats include omega-3 essential fatty acids sources like tuna, salmon, flax, and walnuts. Good sources of protein include lean meats, fish, poultry, nuts, seeds and legumes. Healthy carbohydrate sources include fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
It may be easier to eat five or six smaller balanced meals per day rather than eating three large meals, especially if you are not used to eating much at one sitting.
Protein powders and nutritional supplement drinks can be added as in-between meal snacks if you still need more calories. Some protein powders are flavored and only need added water and some others can be blended with your choice of juice or milk to improve the taste.
It would also be a healthy idea to add a small amount of flax seed oil and some psyllium powder to add some omega-3 essential fatty acids and extra fiber.
Keep your meals balanced. One meal should have a healthy protein source such as fish, low fat meat, chicken or legumes plus two or three servings of vegetables. Green vegetables add lots of vitamins and phytonutrients while starchy potatoes and corn add extra calories.

Drink healthy beverages such as milk and fruit juices to add calories. Don't choose sugary sodas, which only add calories and no nutrition.

Your food will determine how you would be healthy. So eat what is right and healthy.

After hooked by the Wondergirls and 2ne1 who were both Korean female group, here comes the Girls’ Generation.

It is a South Korean nine member girl group formed by SM entertainment in 2007. Its members include Yoona, Tiffany, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Taeyeon, Jessica, and Sunny. They are commonly referred to as SNSD, the acronym of the group's Korean name So Nyeo Shi Dae or So Nyuh Shi Dae.

The members were professionally trained primarily in singing and dancing while a select few were also trained in acting and modeling. Many of the members had already made appearances in magazine ads, television commercials, and small television appearances. For nearly two years, Korean websites speculated about which female SM Entertainment trainees would be placed into the group. They were speculated to be called Super Girls after their counterpart Super Junior.

It was in 2007 when the first album of the group released. There are four songs included in their album, Into the New World, "Beginning" and "Perfect for You", which was later renamed to "Honey" for their self-titled debut album Girls' Generation. An instrumental of "Into the New World" was also included.

This year, the group already released their newest album entitled “Oh”.

More than 25,000 copies of the Korean pop group’s new album, “Oh,” were sold on the first day of its release on Jan. 28.

Shaping Up for Hearts' Day

Life is nothing but making choices. We are all given options here and there. In relationships, you can be the aggressive one or the submissive one. With gadgets, we can either be techie or not. In fashion, you can be called a fashionista or a recessionista with only a few pennies or you can also be the one who is not familiar with the word thrift. With food, you can binge all you want or take another route and go healthy. This path is something we should all consider.

Whether you are a size 2 or a size 20, it is better if you go healthy. As they say, health is wealth. So by being healthy, we can call ourselves wealthy even if our bank accounts say otherwise.

Starting a healthier lifestyle is not that easy but with the will and determination, nothing is impossible. You can be what you always wanted to be. You can turn your high creatinine, high uric acid and high LDL (Low Density Lipoproteins) FBS (Fasting Blood Sugar) blood chemistry results upside down.

However, to be able to solve a problem, we must first be able to pin-point its cause. What triggers all the abnormalities? What brought about all the depressing high results?

CREATININE, according to medical books is a chemical waste molecule that is generated from muscle metabolism. Creatinine is produced from creatine, a molecule of major importance for energy production in muscles. Approximately 2% of the body's creatine is converted to creatinine every day. Creatinine is transported through the bloodstream to the kidneys. The kidneys filter out most of the creatinine and dispose of it in the urine.

A high creatinine level could indicate a kidney problem. Creatinine has been found to be a fairly reliable indicator of kidney function. As the kidneys become impaired the creatinine will rise. Abnormally high levels of creatinine thus warn of possible malfunction or failure of the kidneys, sometimes even before a patient reports any symptoms. It is for this reason that standard blood and urine tests routinely check the amount of creatinine in the blood. If your result goes between 0.6 and 1.2, you are on the safe side, and if not, you better change whatever the hell it is that you are doing wrong.

URIC ACID, is the broken down form of purine. Purine is a substance is found in foods and is produced naturally by the body. Avoidance of high purine foods obviously would lessen your uric acid level. High Purine foods are anchovies, fish eggs, fish such as herring and mackerel, sardines, scallops and mussels, meats, like goose, duck, and partridge, organ meats: brains, heart, kidney, liver, and sweetbreads, meat extracts, minced meat, broth, bouillon, gravy, yeast (baker's and brewer's) taken in the form of a supplement.

Limiting one’s purine intake is necessary for a healthier you.

LDL (Low Density Lipoproteins), Low density lipoproteins, or LDL, are a combination of a cholesterol and a protein that circulate through the body and carry cholesterol from the liver and small intestine to other tissues and cells in the body that need it.
It is something we commonly refer to as “bad cholesterol”.

An increased level of LDL means you are at high risk for heart attack, one of the topmost killer diseases in the world. In order to keep yourself on the safe zone, you must decide to undergo a lifestyle change. Change what you eat, how much you eat and how often you eat.

Avoid fatty foods. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
FBS (Fasting Blood Sugar). The sugar referred to here is the ‘insulin’. 54.96 to 116 is the normal range of FBS and anything higher is a no! no! An abnormally high FBS means you are a diabetic. If you overeat and becomes obese, Type 2 diabetes is very much likely to happen to you.

In this type of diabetes the receptors on cells in the body that normally respond to the action of insulin fail to be stimulated by it - this is known as insulin resistance.

In response to this, more insulin may be produced, and this overproduction exhausts the insulin-manufacturing cells in the pancreas. There is simply insufficient insulin available and the insulin that is available may be abnormal and so it doesn't work properly.
