LADY GAGA AND HER SONGS ...
I was shocked, but not that surprised because I already have a hint or idea about Lady Gaga and some of her song itself. But I'm still curious and I want to validate if the meaning of those names were true as stated in the message I received. I just want to find out what's the meaning of Alejandro the name itself, not the whole song but when I researched on it, what pop out was this one, the occult meaning of Lady Gaga's Alejandro.
I just inserted the link of the said article (at the end of this blog) that I have read about this occult meaning of the song. I want the readers to discover this by themselves and of course I don't want to copy the article to avoid plagiarism.
Note: I'm not doing this or posting this blog because I am against Lady Gaga, actually everybody became a victim of what music industry is bringing to us, as well as with Lady Gaga. I'm not either against her or in favor of her. I just want to warn the people to be aware on what kind of music, videos, movies, or television program we're listening or watching to respectively. We can be hypnotize or enslave on what we're listening and watching. Remember, evil has its own way to deceive us, he will offer what seems to be good in our taste, in our ears and in our eyes and suddenly we are already trapped on his schemes.
Be aware for we're on the last days...

Of Bowling and 9 Kilo Balls

As this will be my last entry in this blog, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to make it a little personal.
Tonight, I went bowling in Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall in Cainta, Rizal. The fee was 80 Php per head for one game, plus 20 Php for shoe rental.
Even though it was something I really wanted to try, I was skeptical because even though it looked easy, I knew it was anything but. I thought that because it was my first time playing, it would be enough of an excuse to play poorly. But the competitive atmosphere in the bowling alley caught up with us and before long, we were bowling like we’ve been doing it all our lives.
Of course, there were those times when the ball just couldn’t resist veering towards the gutter, but it was a good first game for us.
It was intimidating being surrounded by pros who held 15-kilo balls while ours were only 9 kilos. But we didn’t care. We were too busy laughing at ourselves to notice, and needless to say, we had the time of our lives.
And, did I forget to say that it’s a very good sport?
A Cultural Awakening on the Horizon?

The Philippines seems to be getting back to its roots.
Declared by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as its Culture Capital this 2010 to 2011, the country will be hosting the 4th ASEAN Festival of Arts (AFA) which aims to highlight the creativity of ASEAN nations and promote exchange of ideas among the best artists from ASEAN countries.
Themed The Best of the ASEAN: From Ancestral Roots to New Artistic Routes of Expression Mobilizing Cultural Diversity for the UN MDGs, the festival will showcase the best works in the chosen field of arts by ASEAN members.
In this modern day and age, culture and arts are slowly becoming extinct. With the advent of technology upon us, people are turning to computers and gadgets for entertainment rather than foster and enrich cultural traditions.
Being chosen as the Cultural Capital of ASEAN, the country must continue if not put more effort into promoting its identity and amazing cultural diversity. The Philippines is never lacking when it comes to rich tradition, culture and talent, another reason to be proud of who we are.
Unfortunately, we being a developing country, one might argue that there are far more important tasks at hand. That’s why culture is not given much attention as industrialization, perhaps.
With the opening of the 4th ASEAN Festival of Arts is the hope that the country will finally realize the importance of revitalizing and strengthening our culture, a gift for future generations to come.

Colorful Philippines
Every candidate established their plans through their slogans that will help them be recognized. These slogans are seen since campaign period started or even if its not started yet. Together with their slogans, presidential candidates also established their color codes.
Philippines today is fashionably colorful because of the candidates color coding. Presidentiables are connected in their color codes. Does their color code will be the color of the philippines?
Orange, yellow, green or a combination of red and blue?which do you prefer?
Acording to Color wheel pro these are the meaning of the colors.
Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation.
Yellow is the color of sunshine. It's associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy.
Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. Dark green is also commonly associated with money.
Red is the color of fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love.
Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.
It would be fun to have a colorful election or even a colorful Philippines. So choose very well, what will be the philippines proclaimed color of the year.

Pan de Amerikana

I had the pleasure of dining recently at Pan de Amerikana, a very nice place in Marikina which offers authentic 1950’s Pan de sal. And boy, are they HUGE! At only five pesos apiece, you’re sure to get your money’s worth.
The best part about the restaurant though, is the atmosphere and the ambiance it offers. It features a unique garden setting complete with waterfalls, a treehouse, a ropebridge, small ponds, antique wood benches and tables, tropical rain forests and wishing wells.
A very nice touch also is the tables which are etched with chessboards. You only have to leave an ID in order to borrow chess pieces and you can play for free!
Pan de Amerikana is truly a wonderful dining experience, it has a wide variety of Filipino dishes and its creatively designed interior will surely leave you coming back for more.
Jpop, Kpop, Ppop??
And now, even the popular music in the Philippines is replaced by their pop music. Because of the large number and even larger number of fans of kpop and jpop in the country, the top music channel in the Philippines, myx has made an exclusive segment of kpop and jpop music lovers.
Korean pop music and the Japanese pop music are very known these days. Pop music is any genre of music having wide appeal on the audience. Many people are singing kpop and jpop without knowing the meaning of the lyrics. Even the language is different; people are still in at their music because of the beat or melody.
Popular music isn’t a particular type of music; it can be anything that the people will love to listen. As we are in the Philippines, we are usually associated with different music from other countries.
Hit charts in the country are invades by different pop music from different artist from the Different sides of the world, and now Asians are making their name in the music industry in the world. Just like any music, kpop and jpop will be soon left out and will be replaced by another type of music.
When will be the Ppop invades the world?

Tips to top a Relationship
Here are some tips for the girls when you are in a relationship:
Do: be yourself.
Don't: start going au naturel.
Meaning, guys have this thing on their minds that there are things we do that make them crazy about us, and then there are things we do that, um, just really drive them crazy.
Do: try to hang out with their pals.
Don't: forget about us
Guys have a term for fellow male species—those traitors!—who ditch their friends to hang out with the fairer sex: CBF (Chicks before Friends). Don't you turn into the female equivalent! Your friends were there before we came along; they deserve nothing less than sterling, first-class bonding and quality time. At the same time, we do appreciate your valiant efforts to get along with our friends. It takes a very brave soul to hang out with that bunch of schmucks.
Do: say "Thank you!" when guys compliment you.
Don't: say, "You're just saying that 'cause you love me!"
Pre-couplehood, we were all kilig every time guys zinged us with a compliment. Post-couplehood, they just sigh out the word "beautiful" and we look like they just slapped us in the face with a wet fish. Guys think its genetic or something. They’re only guys, they’re not that deep. When they say we’re beautiful, they mean it.
Do: say something... even if a fight is on the way.
Don't: say nothing... but fight us anyway.
Maybe girls always like attention and sometimes we are oa on that thing, we started a fight even there is nothing to fight for. When guys asked us what’s wrong with us we just simply blame them and starting to argue with them without even explaining what’s wrong with the situation. The silent treatment is a girl's deadliest weapon. It's like a stealthy nuke: before guys even know what hit them, there's an ash-covered crater where our good mood used to be. It's good to know what guys were apologizing for, just so it will make sense. They don't read minds or vibe feelings.
Do: tell them about your day.
Don't: demand minute-to-minute updates.
Ha-ha! I am guilty on this part, I think girls just want to make sure that their guys are really into them that is why it’s a yes for them to check minute to minute what’s going on to their boyfriend. But girls, if you really want a healthy relationship, we must have a trust on them even they were not trustworthy (just kidding!). Telling each other about our respective days is a dynamic that should flow naturally, bursting out from the heart like how we fell in love.
Do: stay as pretty as you are.
Don't: ask, "Is that girl prettier than me?"
It’s a no-no to compare ourselves to someone else! Boys love how we stay beautiful for them and we’re not competing to other girls that we keep on asking them "Is that girl prettier than me?"
Let’s turn the table; here are the five habits guys ought to pick up when they get into a relationship.
DO: Start getting a fashion sense.
DON'T: Shop for clothes without your girlfriend.
I think more girls are fashionistas than a guy that is why it is better to ask advice from your girlfriend when picking up clothes.
DO: Learn how to write sweet, swoon-y letters.
DON'T: Use "dude, pare, tsong-astig!" when talking to your GF.
Yeah, we know you’re not that deep but a simple letter coming from what you really feel will makes our heart fall for you again and again. Be sweet, be natural but don’t use words that you already used with your ex or you’re actually using with your friends. Your words should be unique.
DO: Start using facial wash, lip balm, and moisturizer-they really work!
DON'T: Get your eyebrows waxed... that's just too girly.
Vanity nowadays is not just for the girls alone; guys must be clean and neat but too much is always a bad thing. Don’t make yourself as beautiful as your girlfriend literally.
DO: Text her "Happy monthsary!" before she does.
DON'T: Draw a blank when she asks, "What song was playing when we first kissed?"
DO: Get her flowers.
DON'T: Believe her when she tells you she doesn't really like flowers (every girl likes flowers!)
We like flowers but we like more the efforts you put on it. We don’t care about the cost or the kinds of flowers you gave but we care more about the thoughts you have.

The Lightning Bulbs
Pros
• Playful synthesized electronic pop melodies
• Lyrics of fanciful play
• Uniqueness in the mainstream pop world
Cons
• Thin vocals
From the first synthesizer blips that kick off "Fireflies," you feel yourself being taken off to a playful and fanciful musical world. It's no surprise then that the song's lyrics unveil thoughts about such unlikely top 40 songs topics as lightning bugs, dancing, and insomnia. Some may find the content a bit twee, but it could also be seen as a refreshing turn to elements of real life devoid of the intense drama of love and relationships.
The synthesized melodies gradually increase to a therapeutic chorus giving the music some gravity just when it could drown in a sea of sugary sweetness. Recording effects help Adam Young add interest to vocals that otherwise could feel rather ordinary. The power in "Fireflies" is not simply in its fancy. Creative musical arrangements distinguish Owl City from a crowd of solo musical projects.
The success of "Fireflies" demonstrates both the power and the vitality of social networking communities. Adam Young came to the attention of the pop music world through posting of his creations to MySpace. It is difficult to imagine discovering music like this in any other way, and the world of "10 million fireflies" is not one we would want to miss.

Hit Make up style for 2010
The hot season brings a radical innovation among the latest makeup trends. White is undoubtedly the new black and more and more celebrities as well as fashion guru designers adopt this tendency on the catwalk and off. Though some might restrict themselves to the mattes and moderate look, it is highly recommended to experiment with a similar trick that can be embedded even in the boring and plain weekdays. Used mainly by makeup artists who managed to attract the spotlight to the eyes of models, ivory serves as the best shade to transgress the worn-out look and fuse more trends into a dazzling and oh-so-fab appearance both paired with a casual or more ceremonial attires.
Those who were fond of the 'no-makeup' or 'nude' look will be thrilled to practice their skills and create a unique effect complementing all facial features. Celebrities also joined the party of white eye makeup trend followers by applying a similar colored eye

2010 Fashion trends
It seems that every season touches the domain of a pattern. This winter has been the animal print and this Spring-Summer 2010: flowers.
It is not necessary to went to the 50’s, as proposed by Dennis Basso. With a magnificent dress, is something modern, like the Christian Dior ones.
At the same trend, but strapless, Derek Lam offers us a beautiful orange flowers in bright colors. The sandal in black can not fail to give the game design lines.
For his part, Kenzo prefers the longer measures, drawing on the back with force folk style during these months. The geometric pattern also coincides nicely with the flowers and achieves one of the most beautiful designs.
Chanel likes the minimalism, the clasical black and white. Fortunately we see careful and accurate in blue and red flowers on the surface, that looks like reminiscent of the childhood.
BCBG mix textures and prints , in a very informal style, but fails to attract any look. Even so,his dresses are so colorful.
The genius Alexander McQueen , sorprise us with this explosion of color and their particular view of the world of fashion. Words fail
He prefer shorts, and gives us this option of a colorful thin blouse that will look great in summer.
Although we may well optim for the original look of a Maison Martin Margiela, with their world view, they reflect both the marine and in miniskirt high boots.
For those who prefer the black, they are considering a model for a good party, Marchesa always saves his ace in the hole.

Form of Art
We were at the mall, just another bonding moment for friends. Then, we came across this art exhibit at the Mega Atrium. There were paintings which used the violin as its canvas. They were displayed in such a way that from afar it would seem like they were floating violins. We don’t play the violin but I love violin music.
We went inside the exhibit hall and we were surprised to see paintings of bigger women this time, not on the violin but on the usual canvas. Like me, my friend is a plus size girl too. So were trying to look at the bodies of the models on the paintings whether they are clothed or not. Honestly, I was reminded of myself. It was as if there was a mirror in front of me.
It was my first time and my friend’s as well to go to a free art exhibit. Another surprise came to us when the artist himself came to us and even shook our hands. He told us that he was a ‘fat fetish’. He loves painting women like us. It was weird enough that we saw paintings of bigger women and it was even weirder when he approached us.
We were even invited to see the special paintings that were not yet part of the exhibit and so we did. We were shown more paintings and it bothered me that all paintings seem to be dark. Dark hues dominated the canvas though the artist seemed like not a dark person but a fun person actually. Well, I really know nothing about artists.
The small conversation about the paintings ended quickly and my friend and I decided to leave and when we were already far from the exhibit, that was when I realized that I still have an ‘art article’ to write.
Sighs. I could have had a longer conversation with that artist. Nonetheless, it was already enough that I was proven that art really is something unpredictable and it really comes in different shapes and sizes.

Almost Alice Wonders

This is a call to the people who have not watched Alice in Wonderland (including me :( )
No time for movies for now but I have time for music and ‘Almost Alice’ was definitely something I enjoyed. All songs were likeable. I only got the chance to hear all sixteen tracks through the wonders of the information superhighway and had a few tracks saved on my mp3.
The great thing about the album is that every song has is almost different then again; each one has that ‘something’ and collectively, all the songs are pleasing enough that you would love to hear it over and over again.
I especially adore’ Welcome to Mystery’ by plain White T’s it reminded me of a Beatles song that I hear almost every weekend back home. I was surprised to find ‘The Technicolor Phase’ by Owl City on the album. I love that song the first time I heard it months ago.
If you have not watched the movie and you enjoyed the ‘Almost Alice’, I guess you better find some free time to go to a cinema and feast not only your ears but your eyes as well.
Over all, Almost Alice is an album most of you guys will enjoy whether you have watched the movie or not but I guess I would have appreciated the album more if I have watched the movie.
Free tickets, anyone? :)
Make up is not a vice
Not all people consider make ups. Only few are having fun in using beauty products. And I know that beauty products such as make ups are considered vice in the eyes of many.
Unfortunately, make ups and other cosmetics is not really a vice for most women. In spite of this, the use of make ups increases women's beauty. Although some say simplicity is beauty, and putting such make ups doesn't make you simple, it never bothers me to put make ups on my face.
With the use of light make ups through your face, it can help you to look even younger. It helps you to lessen your stress and somewhat refreshes you. Aside from this, it can help you to look more fabulously during special events and occasions.
Wearing make ups is not bad yet we must know how to use it properly. Once we knew how to apply it, it can never bring you harm. Just grab the original and not the fake ones.

Falling out of love?
-japanese
"nan neol a-jik-do sa-rang-ha-ji an-ha"
-korean
"Ya no te amo"
-spanish
"I don't love you anymore". Yes, It is hard to say i love you but it is harder to say that you're falling out of love to someone you have loved before. Someone who still loves you the way you love them before. Someone who you promised to love with forever.
The reason of some people who can't say i love you to someone is that they are afraid that they can be rejected. But why does it is hard to say to someone that you don't love them anymore?
They say love has no reason. You love someone because you love them. Then there shouldn't be a reason to fall out of love too? Is it just a feeling? Why do people fall out love after they fall inlove with someone?
People fall out of love because of some reasons that your partner will surely understand in time because he/she loves you and you love them too but not as much as before.
And as you love them with respect, let them know your feeling towards them early before you can hurt them.

reflected in your shirt color
We don’t need a degree in color engineering, but a lot hinges on this! Everyday you put together many elements of your attire. Your choice of the colors you mix and match can make a significant impression on how you look to others.
Colors are like kids and employees. Some work together, and get along just fine; others always fight.
Color is energy, if you’re wearing the colors that are right for you, you’ll look dynamic. Color coordination not only makes you look good, but also gives you an organized and professional image.
We’ll try to put an end to those mornings that find you late for work, standing in front of the mirror, holding up six ties, and two shirts against your new suit! Some basic color knowledge, and a lot of experience will help you coordinate those dazzling ensembles with confidence and ease, and maybe even have time for a second cup of coffee.
Men have it easier than women in the color world since most business is conducted in navy, or gray suits, white or blue shirts, and only in our ties and pocket squares are we “allowed” the freedom to get colorful (but even there one rarely sees fuchsia!). Well maybe on the golf course, but even there we look better if the colors match!
The word match comes from an Old English word "gemaecca" which was shortened to "macche" meaning mate or companion!
Why pink for little girls and blue for little boys? An old European fairly tale had baby girls springing forth from pink roses! Blue is the color of the heavens and parents thought it would protect infant sons from the Devil!
According to Clare Spiegel, president of Your New Image, a career consulting company, bright colors and loud talk give an impression of low intelligence!
As reported in Men’s Health Magazine, speaking in a mid volume during a speech or presentation projects more intelligence than speaking too loudly. Speaking in moderate tones presents a calm and authoritative image rather than an appearance that you are desperate to convince everyone of your point. Too loud also can be perceived as boisterous and obnoxious.
The same goes for loud clothing colors, Spiegel says! For example, if you’re going to don a Hawaiian shirt for an event where you need some semblance of astuteness, make sure the shade is dusty or muted, not bright.
Maybe that’s why serious business attire has always been navy or gray set off by a white shirt, and some necktie color to draw attention to your face. And now we know it’s a consideration for casual clothes!

WHEN THE SHOES FIT NO MORE
Disclaimer: This article will not preach you of why not to take your life away. For by now, you should already know that it is something given that we should not take away ourselves.
When your shoes bring you calluses after a long walk, what do you do? When you get wounds after a stroll, what must be done? I suggest, you take it off and keep walking. NOT LITERALLY, of course!
After years of spending times together, it is devastating when you realize that you are no more than strangers- when one day you see yourself walking on the same ground and being with the same people with an awfully different feeling. It is as if you are looking at things with a different set of eyes. It is nothing but sad when you have come to understand the fact that they are not who you thought they were.
Things can seem to be something that they are not. The way things are depends on how you look at them. Sharing a meal, sharing a drink and even sharing your deepest darkest secrets could be something special to you but may mean otherwise to the one you are sharing it with. The thing you go through together may be ocean deep to you but may be nothing but a swamp to the counterpart.
These are the moments that there is a need for a self-check. Check if you really belong to the home you have made yourself a part of. Check things out to see the things you unconsciously missed and the things they consciously made you miss. By this time, allow me to say that you now have met the ‘stranger’ they have known for more years now and there is no going back.
As they say, quitting is never the answer. I agree with that, but if you are already tired and another blink can cause you your life figuratively, STOP!
Collect yourself first. Resume when you can. Go on when you are ready. Allow to get to know the ‘stranger’ they have been keeping up with. Ponder if there really is such a stranger or they are the strangers who you have been keeping up with. Relax. Free yourself first from all the questions and anxieties. You’ll never be friends with a stranger if your heart is not open and when your feet are still sore.
Then again, what matters is whether you are or they are the strangers, there is no quitting. There is just need for a pause and another time to follow one of the most popular alcoholic drinks’ tagline, ‘Keep Walking’ until you can find yourself the perfect pair.
MICLAT, Augie Monica A.
How to Be Whole Again
But despite all the struggles and suffering, you have to learn how to get through the day, because life will move on even if you choose not to. You have to realize that you still have your friends and family, and they will help you get out of the black hole you got suck into. The best way to move on is actually pretty simple: spend time to people you love and people who love you. Don’t lock yourself in your room listening to sappy song because that would just make the tears flow like a water theme park. Instead, watch a lot of comedies or funny cartoons, and keep yourself busy in the most productive ways possible. Most importantly, take this chance to focus on yourself. Because maybe during the relationship, it was just all about your partner. Maybe you made everything revolve around him, gave him too much, and didn’t leave enough for yourself. Maybe you didn’t have enough time to love one person who truly matters: YOU.
Keep in mind that whenever you go to heartbreak, no matter how devastated you are, it’s not the end of the world. Even though you’ve hit rock-bottom, you can still dig, come out of the other side of the Earth, and start anew.

Is Work a Healthful or Stressful Activity for You?
A balance person is not a beast of burden. He should not be very much tied to his work like a workaholic. A person should study how he is affected by his work and make it positive and healthier experience. He should balance work with enjoyable healthful leisure and vacation time.
All in all, a person should strive for a career that has room for both work and play ~ a lifestyle that is based on good health habits. He should choose a work environment that promotes strong interpersonal relationships and healthful activities. These are worthwhile ways to develop good mental and physical health during his long working years.

Bloated tummy: Out for summer
Well, you can still wear you summer outfit, just read on to know how to prevent a bloated stomach.
1.)Reduce Carbohydrate and Fatty Food Intake
Carbohydrates provide fuel for the body. But too many carbohydrates in the body can give the stomach a more rounded look! Cut down on carbohydrates drastically at lunch to keep the tummy trim when it’s time to make a big appearance in the evening. That means don’t eat too much rice, pasta, noodles or bread.Fatty foods such as fried chicken, cheese and burger take longer to break down and will therefore stay in the stomach longer. So avoid these as well.
Eat chicken or tuna salad instead. Ideally, prepare it at home instead of buying one as salads sold at delis and restaurants are always loaded with fatty dressings as well as salt, which actually causes water retention and bloats up the stomach.
2.)Avoid Fruits after a Meal
Fruits are good sources of vitamins and tasty but do have them before lunch, not after. Fruits often contain sugar which ferments and releases air in the gastrointestinal tract. The trapped air will bloat up the tummy.
3.)Drink Plenty of Water
Don’t skip water in the hope of flattening the tummy. In fact, drinking at least eight glasses of water everyday is highly recommended, especially for those who regularly drink coffee, tea and alcohol. This is due to the fact that these beverages tend to dehydrate the body, which, as strange as it sounds, actually lead to fluid retention and bloating. So drink up throughout the day.
However, water should not be drunk during a meal. Try to drink plenty of water about 45 minutes before the meal. This is because water dilutes enzymes that break down food, causing food to be digested longer. Those who feel thirsty during a meal should just take a sip of water instead. Normal drinking patterns can continue after the meal.
4.)Relax and Stretch
Stress can contribute to bloated tummies too. When a body is stressed, the level of digestive acids in the stomach drops. Again, that means food will need more time to be digested, causing the stomach to have that puffy look. So stop worrying. Try to relax and unwind with some gentle exercises such as stretching, taking a long walk, deep breathing and yoga. Half an hour of meditation may be useful too.
5.)Prevent Air from Entering Body
If too much air is swallowed, the stomach will be swollen too! So do whatever it takes to cut down on air. Avoid smoking, drinking from a straw, talking while eating, sucking on hard candy, drinking carbonated beverages and wearing loose dentures as these activities increase the chances of swallowing air.
6.)Banish Air from the Body
If the body is already bloated and you desperately need to get rid of it, some natural remedies may help. Peppermint tea, natural charcoal capsules and aniseed herbal tincture taken with hot water are effective in relieving bloated tummies.
Don’t starve yourself before the big night. Instead, try some sensible approaches. During the day, reducing carbohydrates and fatty foods, avoiding fruits after a meal, drinking lots of water but not just before lunch, relaxing as well as avoiding swallowing air can all help keep the stomach flat in the evening.
With these tips, your tummy will prevent from bloating and your summer outfit will not be the a hindrance for you to enjoy the summer!

EYES, EYES BABY
We say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I can’t agree more.
The saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder tells us that beauty is subjective. Beauty’s definition depends on who is looking.
But this time, ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ will have a completely new meaning. At this point, let us say that beauty is definitely in the ‘eyes’. Translation: When your eyes are beautiful, you are beautiful.
People are born with different physical attributes. No pair of eyes is exactly the same. Some may be chinky-eyed or the slit eyes while others may be doe-eyed and you can also find yourself those who are in between. Others are blue-eyed or green-eyed and while brown-eyed.
Whatever shape and your eyes may take, it is a must that we keep them bright beautiful for they are great even though they are small.
How do we keep our eyes fresh and appealing? How can we maintain their natural glow? Simple. DO NOT OVERUSE THEM.
Do not stay under the sun for too long. Wear shades when the sun is hot and out, especially now that El Niño is here.
To the bookworms out there, read in a well-lit place.
To the techies, change the setting of your computers. Be aware that too much brightness is bad. You can also have those screens that cover your screen and lessen the harmful rays that could reach your eyes.
Eat foods that are rich in beta carotene. Our body turns beta-carotene into vitamin A which reduces the risk of macular degeneration and promotes good vision.
Sleep tight. Do not give your eyes less than eight hours of sleep. We do not want dark eye circles and eyebags, do we?
Give your eyes some rest that they deserve. Keep in mind that anything overused will have a defect. So learn to take good care of those windows to your soul.

Practical Things You Can Do Everyday to Save Some Money
2. Write it down. Keep a notebook to record everything you spend on. At the end of every week, check your log-you'll be surprised to see where most of your money goes!
3. Shop in your closet. Look for old threads that you can work on to permanently get rid of that ugly,” I have nothing to wear!" feeling.
4. Be earth-friendly. Being good to the planet can equal being good to your pocket! Fill your notebooks to the brim, use old magazines for school projects, use rewritable DVDs instead of ordinary CDs, and invest in rechargeable batteries.
5. Bust out the piggy bank. Drop all your loose change into your old piggy bank every time you come home from school. It may be old school, but it always works.
6. Hang out at home. Invite friends over instead of hanging out at the mall. Eat in instead of ordering takeout. Watch a DVD instead of heading to the theaters.
7. Try to make smarter decisions when it comes to money. You need to think twice about what you invest in.
8. Work on your wish list. Every time you get that impulse to shop, write down what you want (how much it costs) in a journal. Making a list can help you filter your needs from your wants, and the things you must have from the stuff you can live without.
9. Take care of yourself. Looking after your health in the most basic way can keep you from spending money on meds and doctors in the long run. Eat healthy, brush and floss, stay active, rest your eyes, and always find time to relax so you don't stress out and get sick.
10. Count it out. Go over how much money you have in your wallet at the end of each day. It's one way to track spending-and a great way to be aware of everything you've got.

Insecurity in Relationships: It happens more often than you think
Insecurity is defined as a feeling of general unease or nervousness that may be triggered by perceiving one ’s self to be unloved, inadequate, or worthless. It is frequently an issue among couples, and has been the demise of many relationships.
Women fall prey to insecurity much more than men. That’s not to say men don’t feel insecure. They just cope with it better and feel a different level than those of their female counterparts.
The insecure partner likely has a low self-esteem, or unresolved emotional baggage. She might suffer from fear of rejection, intimacy (this should not be confused with fear of commitment) or losing an identity, and more alarmingly, from lack of trust. These may stem from past experiences or relationships, or from the environment she grew up in.
These hidden fears and issues manifest through jealousy, doubt, mistrust, paranoia and a controlling demeanor. The one suffering from insecurity has constant doubts and fears, is forever worrying, and experiences never-ending anxiety. Upon entering a relationship, her questions which used to be “Will anyone love me?” might translate to “Am I good enough for him?” and “What could he possibly want in me that he couldn’t find in other girls?” She probably has episodes of wallowing in self-pity, and feels very poorly about herself. As a result, she alienates her partner, refusing to open up. She shuns attention given to her, retreating into her shell every time he wants to talk.
The other partner now feels angered because he cannot understand why there is a widening gap between them, as the insecure partner will likely avoid confrontations and discussions about their existing problem.
If you are the receiving end of an insecure partner, understand that your partner needs to be loved and understood more than ever in this tumultuous part in your relationship.
Prove your loyalty and commitment. There are a lot of ways in which you can prove your loyalty; one is always being there when your partner needs you. Another way is to talk things through. Persuade her to change her unhealthy thinking habits, boost her self-confidence by complimenting her, whether it is about her physical features or even the little things that you love about her and assure her that there is no reason to second-guess you.
If your partner’s insecurity level has gotten to a level so intense that you find it difficult to maintain a healthy and happy relationship, you can seek counselling to guide you in straightening out your issues that may be underlying your relationship. It may be a big step, but a good one nonetheless, to exorcise the insecurity monster once and for all.

Handbags Health Hazard Women Warned
Bags for women have become bigger and heavier as designers combine briefcases with handbags and straps have become longer but the extra leverage has many patients complaining of neck, shoulder, and back problems.
Correct posture while carrying bulky purses, keeping the head and shoulders aligned upright is recommended to avoid problems if we continue the purse craze.
The extra-large purses are quite phenomenal. They look beautiful when the women wear them, but they don’t know how aware they are of the potential problems.
Massage, anti-inflammation and rest are good to help alleviate the symptoms temporarily however the only real cure is patient education.
Children were recommended to carry no more than 10-15 percent of their body weight in backpacks, which are effective at spreading loads carried, but fashion consultants say they just are aren’t cool any more.
The trend is either very large or very small. People go to the gym, they have an extra pair of shoes, they have their make-up, so there’s more stuff to carry around. The backpack is really for a very casual customer, for a student with books, that is not a fashion customer.
Traditionally women adopted better postures for carrying loads, such as baskets on heads or strapping a papoose across the back, but placing objects on one shoulder was one of the least efficient ways of carrying loads. This causes a great imbalance.
If it (a big bag) is a fashion accessory, then occasional and symbolic use is fine. If not, then keep it light.

Ways to tackle menstrual cramps
According to science, there are two types of menstrual cramps, the primary menstrual cramps and the secondary menstrual cramps. Primary menstrual cramps are hereditary. There is no specific cause determined. It just seems that during your period, your uterus cramps up and your sensitivity to that cramping is pretty acute. Sometimes, primary cramps will lessen after giving birth. It happened maybe because of the stretching out of the cervix during delivery reduces the pulling against it that can occur when the uterus contracts or cramps up. Secondary menstrual cramps, on the other hand, are caused by some underlying condition. They are usually a little worse than primary cramps.
Menstrual cramps are usually the result of a prostaglandin excess. Prostaglandin is a hormone produced by the uterine lining mediates many processes within the body. It can bring on headaches, intestinal cramps, and labor. While secondary cramps are usually treated by curing the underlying condition, primary cramps are largely self-treatable with over-the-counter medications and some basic comfort measures. Here are some suggestions:
Take ibuprofen or aspirin.
These medications help to lower the level of prostaglandins, which can lessen or alleviate the cramps.
Hold a heating pad or bottle with hot water in it to the cramped area.
The heat will relax the muscles and soften the pain of the cramping.
Maintain a regular aerobic exercise program.
This doesn’t mean you have to exercise through an episode of cramps. Keeping up a regular exercise or fitness program the rest of the month seems to make these episodes less intense when they do occur. Exercising also increases pelvic circulation, which helps to clear out the excess prostaglandins a little faster.
Take a hot bath.
A hot bat relaxes the muscles and increases circulation to the pelvic area. It can also relieve some of the lower back pain that can accompany cramps.
Practice good, safe, self-help techniques to have a healthy living.

SPRAY PAINT ARMY

And since there is a need for you to know what graffiti is, it is the plural form of the word, “graffito” which means scribbling or scratch in Italian.
According to one graffiti artist, ‘Bonz’ from Samahang Batang Aerosol (SBA), graffiti is an art of spray painting using the wall as your canvas.
People first recognized graffiti as an art during the 70’s and 80’s in the subway of New York and has taken popularity in recent years here in the Philippines through the association of hip-hop culture although Bonz believes that as long as you love its concept and artistry, anyone ( not only hip-hop) can create or write graffiti.
Graffiti all over the world has flourished as means of expression. In fact, most graffs (short for graffiti) are being used as medium for socio-political criticisms and upliftment as well. Then again, SBA dares to have a specific Filipino mark or identity when it comes to graffiti. They want their works to be branded as ‘Filipino Graff’.
On the issue that graffiti is only another form of vandalism; Bonz believes that it can’t be classified as such because graff is a form of beauty while vandals are just plain destruction of what exists.
And visual art isn’t a destruction of any kind. It is something created to be loved and be appreciated by everyone who gets to be see it whether they may be on paper, clothing and even on walls.

Want Skin that positively glows?
Fabulous, radiant skin is in! No matter how expensive your clothes may be, or how bootylicious you may seem, your skin will never fail to be noticed. So before heading out to the beach, here are a few tips on how to prep your beach-ready skin.
Back to basics. The golden rule in skin care is exfoliate, tone and moisturize. It is the tried and tested beauty formula (if there is one) to reveal healthy luscious skin hiding behind those dull, dead skin cells. As you probably know by now, washing your face with plain soap will do more harm than good. Antibacterial and deodorant soaps can be cruel to your skin, so moisturizing bars like Dove would be better. Also, look for alcohol and fragrance-free products, as these ingredients tend to strip the skin of its natural oils.
Eating and exercising. Yet again, avoiding greasy and fatty foods will prove to be beneficial not only to your health but to your skin. So instead of chomping down on chips and sodas, replace them with fruits, veggies and just plain water to lend your skin a helping hand. Whatever you choose to eat will ultimately show on your skin, as how your sedentary lifestyle shows on your figure, so it’s up to you.
Strive to exercise everyday for an hour or half. If you think that losing weight is the only motivation for getting physical, think again. Studies have shown that being active is essential to achieving good skin, because when we exercise, the brain releases a hormone called oxytocin which contributes to the rosy white glow we get. A short tip: short bursts of ten-minute activities, scattered on a whole day, is better than exercising for three hours once a week.
Masks and treatments. Who knew that your pantry holds the key to soft, radiant skin? A paste of banana, honey and orange juice are all it takes to make a moisturizing and hydrating mask. You could also try lemon juice mixed with honey and milk. Some oils like almond oil, grape seed oil, and avocado oil along with shea butter and cocoa butter are all ingredients in a skin friendly product. And remember, lukewarm water is still the best for your skin.
If you prefer professional treatments, facials are highly recommended because they help boost blood circulation and strengthen your skin’s elasticity. A massage would also yield the same effects, with guaranteed relaxation on the side.
Good timing. Moisturize approximately twenty minutes after showering, while your skin is still damp, to lock in moisture. Sometimes it’s all about timing, which is why you are advised to put on moisturizer just before sleeping because it is when the skin is most absorbent. Besides, when you sleep, your skin rejuvenates itself and builds new skin cells that is why you look refreshed and glowing after a good night’s sleep. An extra tip: slather on vaseline petroleum jelly on your feet and put on socks. You’ll have softer skin on your feet in the morning, guaranteed.
Protect. After your skin has been pampered and buffed to perfection, it’s time for the last and most important step of all in caring for your skin. NEVER ever forget to put sunscreen on liberally on every part of your skin that will be exposed to the sun 20 minutes before going out. It will shield your skin from damaging ultraviolet rays from the sun, minimize its aging effects on the skin and help prevent skin cancers. In sunblock, the rule is that the higher the number is, the better. But 15 is the minimum, usually already mixed in lotions and creams.
So, having laid out the foundation for success in caring for your skin, you’re sure to catch every eye in the crowd with your beautiful, glowing skin. Happy summer!

An itch that won’t go away
Allergic contact dermatitis is usually caused by exposure to a substance or particle to which you are allergic to or have grown sensitive to. Likely allergens would be the following:
-Poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac
-Other plants
-Metals, especially nickel
-Medications, especially topicals (those applied to the surface of the skin)
-Rubber or latex
-Cosmetics
-Fabrics and clothing
-Detergents and solvents
-Adhesives
-Fragrances
-Other substances and chemicals
The first few days having it were torture. My skin became covered with pimple like growth, like a raised rash. Almost as if I had the measles. They hurt and they were very itchy... VERY.
I went to the dermatologist at our town but still wasn’t able to see results so I went for a second opinion. When I got back to Manila, what followed was a series of treatments, of trials and errors, and a whole lot of medication. A painfully slow process.
Truly a skin disease is an expensive one to have. Antihistamines for the itchiness became my desserts. I always had a wet towel to pat on my itching rashes. Inevitably, the itch became too much for me, and soon I had wounds and sores all over my body. I had to switch from brand of antihistamine to another, hoping for relief. Expensive brands work just as well as cheap generic ones.
It turns out that even though you have been using something repeatedly in the past, you may still develop sensitivity to it. Hence, you must consider everything if you’ve had an allergic reaction and still haven’t figured out what it is.
Symptoms of allergic contact dermatitis include:
• Itching
• Tenderness
• Skin redness/ inflammation
• Swelling
• Lesions or rashes, papules (pimple like), vesicles (blistery), and bullae (blisters)
• Oozing, draining or crusting may happen
• Can become raw, scaly or thickened
To identify the allergen, patch testing is usually done on patients whose dermatitis recur. In patch testing, patches of potential allergens are applied on the skin and removed 48 hours later to see if a reaction has occurred to any of the substances.
Treatments comprise of corticosteroid skin creams that reduce inflammation, antihistamines are also prescribed to lessen the itchiness. Avoid itching the affected part of your skin because it can cause a secondary infection and unsightly scars. Trust me, I have scars all over my body to prove it.
I always have a bottle of corticosteroid handy in my bag so that when it flares up, I’m ready.
You should be too.

Fashion Revival
As time goes by, people are getting more rebellions and wild on dressing up. Some Filipinos are adapting such trends which are in demand in other countries. They become more extravagant and wanted to be remembered by their own fashion. They create different styles and experiment trends just to ease their personal wants.
In order to be fashionable, most people follow what’s in the market even if it is too expensive. Whether it is cool or not so comfortable, they just buy it.
People are very free by means of dressing. They can wear what they wanted to wear. They can wear anything they want even if it is not fitted for them. They just looked trying hard.
Some women especially the liberated ones, they preferred to wear plunging necklines, they wanted to show their cleavage which is very foul to see by conservative people. They wanted to look very hot yet sometimes cause disrespect against them.
As you observe the way of dressing in the past year, you can see the love of women to themselves, the respect of men to women. You can see conservative they are. But look at us now, people change, people find some new in their lives. They experiment and express their selves by means of wild dressing.
Fashion trend has been evolving, from a simple piece of leaf turning to an expensive dress. A very conservative baro’t saya turning to a very sexy plunging see through attire, what will be the future fashion trend?
Does fashion trend really affect the whole society or part of the society is the evolution of fashion trend?

SHAPING UP FOR HEARTS’ DAY
To be a healthy person, not only for your sake but for those who cherish and treasure you the most will probably be one of the greatest gifts you can give to them. The gift of love and health is something we are given and just like anything given, we must learn to appreciate and value it.
People, it is a must that we know how to take care of ourselves. It is necessary that we know what is best for us. It is we do things for our well-being, which of course includes the proper food intake and daily activities.
If you truly know yourself, by now, you must already know what is slowing you down or what is keeping you away from the top of your game. By now, it must not be a secret to you why sometimes you can’t keep up with your love one’s energy.
It could be possible that these kinds of matters concern your health. It might be possible that you are not eating right. It is also possible that due to your inactivity, your health is going down or it could be both.
Health as I have mentioned last time and as you already know is wealth and to be healthy, we must all learn how to it properly. We must master the art of encrypting to or minds and hearts and not merely our stomachs what we eat, how much we eat and how often do we eat. We must know these three and allow me to give you a hint.
If you are the typical Pinoy or Pinoy who can’t take their serving of rice every meal, try brown rice. We have been hearing brown rice for years now. But what is really with it that can help our bodies, health wise?
Brown rice has high-fiber content. The health benefits of high fiber content foods are numerous, it reduces the possibility of heart diseases, helps avoid abrupt spikes in sugar levels, helps digestion and reduces constipation. It contains other nutrients like, B vitamins, manganese, selenium and iron which are all needed by our bodies.
Help yourselves with brown rice and not the regular rice we commonly take in.
Another tip is eating whole grain products on a regular basis. A study conducted in 2007 showed that women who regularly eat whole grain as part of a low fat diet and healthy lifestyle, tend to weigh less and are less likely to gain weight over time.
Whole grain product just like brown rice contains fiber. Whole grain products such a whole grain cereal is a healthier option for most cereals, milling involves the removal of the outer husk, or bran, and the nutrient-rich germ from the endosperm which is then used to make flour.
And as what you hear more often than not, avoid fatty foods!
What to eat is just the beginning. We still have to learn how much to eat. Of course, anything overboard is not good. Too much of anything can bring you no good. Try to talk to your nutritionist to find out what is best for you. Some may need special diet. Other people may require a closer look from specialists before they go on a diet. Then again, keep in mind these five words, “anything too much is bad”.
Do not eat all the time. It is not advisable that you eat every time you are bored and you feel like eating. Do not involve too much of your emotion when eating. Avoid putting food in your mouth when you are feeling intense emotions. You might get carried away and might lead to overeating. Overeating is something anyone, even those who are on normal side of the scale must avoid.
Again, health is wealth. Take care of it. Live a longer life.
